Yuan Xinghua, a resident of Damu village in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, was reportedly satisfied with his house that he had lived in for 15 years after it was upgraded recently.
"We have upgraded 180 rural houses. And we will continue to focus on housing governance and landscape improvement," said Zeng Yong, who is in charge of the village's house upgrading program.
The program began in 2021, and this year the county has successfully upgraded 400 rural houses. The government plans to renovate an additional 1,566 rural houses this year. According to the work schedule, relevant investigation and mobilization work will be completed in March and renovations will be completed in October.
Guiyang will upgrade 10,000 rural houses in 2022, mainly focusing on rural vitalization demonstration sites, villages suitable for rural tourism, historical and cultural villages, and revolutionary villages.
