Sources from the Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs indicated on Dec 30 that in 2022, Guiyang and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province established 9,086.67 hectares of high-quality farmlands, exceeding the yearly target set by the province.
The two areas have repaired 23 irrigation pumping stations, 352 water conservancy facilities in fields, 141.37 kilometers of irrigation ditches, and 4.3 km of water pipes.
The Guiyang and Guian high-quality farmland improvement action plan for 2022 has been formulated, and efforts have been made to ensure that migrant workers living around the farmlands are prioritized in recruitment. So far, a total of 4,378 people have found jobs in these farmlands.
