Sources from the Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs said that in 2023, Guiyang and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province have set specific goals for agriculture.
A total of 252,300 mu (16,820 hectares) and 1.15 million mu of land will be used for spring and summer ploughing in the two localities, respectively.
In Dec 2022, Guiyang and Guian rolled out action plans for vegetable supply demonstration base construction, high-quality development of the under-forest economy, and ecological fishing.
This year, the arable land replanting index of Guiyang and Guian New Area is expected to exceed 135 percent, with the comprehensive grain production mechanization rate to reach 67 percent.
The output for per mu of basic farmland and high-quality farmland will reach 6,000 yuan ($887.4) and 7,000 yuan, respectively.
