Over the course of last year, Guiyang and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province achieved a series of strong results in rural governance.

In terms of rural housing, the two places trained about 1,000 rural architecture craftsmen, and made plans to improve 659 villages. All dilapidated houses found last year have been renovated.

A total of 15 water supply projects have been completed, benefiting 96,300 rural residents, while the sewage of 154 administrative villages has been treated.

The government has set up 881 recyclable and harmful waste collection sites for villages, according to data from the Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs.
