Municipal meeting on rural governance held

A municipal meeting on the rural governance work to be done for this year was held on Feb 18 in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province.

2023 is seen as a key year in advancing rural vitalization and modern agriculture. Government officials were urged to focus on agricultural products, specific agricultural sectors, and agricultural market entities, while towns were urged to select suitable leading industries, and villages were encouraged to develop major agricultural products.

Authorities will mainly cultivate four kinds of market players – large agricultural households, family farm operators, professional cooperatives and leading agricultural companies.

Housing, water safety, sewage and garbage, toilets, and living styles should be the focus of rural governance.

Efforts will also be made to create more forests and balance their ecological, economic and social interests.
