Guiyang in Southwest China's Guizhou province has revamped its efforts to improve the vocational skills of people who are struggling with poverty, as well as efforts to raise the quality of employment through targeted measures.

The government has encouraged impoverished people to seek job opportunities in places outside of Guizhou, and has so far organized 157 job fairs, in which 2,146 enterprises participated. A total of 188,000 available positions were released and advertised.

Key social groups such as graduates from impoverished families and the relocated population will be given priority during these efforts, and they will enjoy preferential policies on employment and entrepreneurship.

Professional training that focuses on a variety of vocational skills will be carried out to help more people to find jobs.
