To further crack down on the illegal production and sale of genetically modified seeds and enhance the capabilities of crop seed quality inspection teams, from May 12 to June 21, the Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs organized city-wide training on the rapid detection of genetically modified crop seeds and conducted random sampling inspections of crop seed production bases and major crop areas within its jurisdiction.
The training will be conducted through lectures and on-site demonstrations. The samples were taken from five districts and counties, including Wudang and Huaxi districts, Xiuwen, Xifeng and Kaiyang counties.
So far, 62 crop varieties have been tested, and all results were negative.
