Guiyang to increase number of emerging agricultural operators

A symposium was held on July 4 in Guiyang, centered on the emerging agricultural operator in Guiyang and Guian New Area. 

Representatives of family farms, major farming and livestock households, professional cooperatives, and key agricultural corporations addressed the symposium.

The meeting stressed that the growing speed of emerging agricultural operators and their economic performance and development quality are key to achieving agricultural modernization in the two regions. 

Government officials were urged to initiate campaigns to improve such operators in order to make them more sensitive to the market and make agriculture a more promising business, promote large-scale agriculture, give full play to preferential agricultural policies, and address land, capital and talent issues involved in the development of merging agriculture. 

Meanwhile, State-owned enterprises were encouraged to invigorate their agricultural businesses, promote agricultural product marketing based on the market's changing demands, and make continuous efforts to reduce overall operational costs. 

Authorities will work to further strengthen agricultural market entities' operational management capabilities, heighten the role of professional cooperatives, and establish unified standards for agricultural products in terms of safety and sustainability.
