By June 29, Guiyang in Southwest China's Guizhou province had reported 98,560 hectares of grain acreage, accounting for 115.5 percent of its annual goal. Its soybean acreage also surpassed the target by 126 percent. Meanwhile, Guian New Area had fulfilled the original crop-growing objectives.
The Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs has been focusing this year on identifying suitable crop options, determining cultivators, and exploring optimal cultivation methods. Additionally, they have been offering guidance to new agricultural operators who wish to participate in grain production.
So far, the bureau has cultivated 2,500 prominent grain-growing households, 264 family farms, and 84 rural cooperatives.
Efforts have also been taken to intensify subsidies on agricultural machinery for farmers.
