Luwo village seizes rural development momentum

Luwo village in Xifeng county, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province is situated at the foot of the Xiwang Mountain, which is a renowned scenic site, having nine villages.

Since the initiation of the characteristic rural countryside construction pilot project, Luwo village has achieved significant progress by integrating diverse funds amounting to 15.41 million yuan ($2.16 million) and successfully implementing 46 related projects. The village has taken proactive measures to boost the cultivation of high-quality rice through the adoption of mechanized farming techniques. Furthermore, it has established both online and offline sales channels for its agricultural products, contributing to the promotion of rural development and improving the livelihoods of its residents.

By organizing cole flower festivals and off-road running challenges, Luwo village has successfully cultivated characteristic agriculture and developed unique offerings in the catering and rural homestay sectors. These engaging events have drawn a significant influx of tourists, fueling the growth of the catering and accommodation industries in the village.

A total of 10 homestays and two farmhouse restaurants have been developed in the village. During the fifth off-road Running challenge in 2023, the village received over 8,000 visitors and achieved tourism revenue exceeding 7.7 million yuan ($1.08 million).

In the upcoming phase, Luwo village is committed to further advancing the deep processing of agricultural products, adding value to its produce. To achieve this, the village will implement a comprehensive management model that integrates talent introduction, cultivation, and exploration. By attracting and nurturing skilled individuals, the village aims to tap into their expertise and ideas to drive rural development.

Luwo village will make special efforts to encourage college students, retired servicemen, and other capable individuals to actively participate in rural work and entrepreneurship. By providing incentives and support, the village aims to attract these talents to contribute their skills and knowledge to the rural community. Additionally, there will be a focus on enhancing the construction of public service systems to ensure that essential services are readily available to the residents.
