News from the Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs on Aug 9 suggested that over the first half of 2022, Guiyang city and Guian New Area are expected to have an agricultural product processing rate of 59 percent, a rise from 54.72 percent, which was the rate from the previous year.
The government has optimized its top-down design in the agricultural product processing industry, and has established several agricultural product processing industrial clusters in Kaiyang, Xiuwen counties and Wudang district. Further, all 21 applications for the provincial special food processing demonstration bases have been approved.
Guiyang and Guian have also received funds from the central government to develop special food industries. In addition, the two places have increased efforts to set up public brands, and hold relevant promotions.
Moving forward, the government will strive to shift from primary processing to the intensive processing of agricultural products through talent cultivation, market entity fostering, financial support, and material supply.
