Bureau holds corn variety demonstration activity

Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs organized the 2023 Guiyang corn variety risk tracking, evaluation and demonstration event in Xifeng county on Aug 2. This event saw the participation of provincial experts who were invited to share their insights.

A total of 65 corn varieties were observed in this event, including 13 corn silage varieties and 52 dual-purpose corn varieties. Experts conducted on-site investigations and evaluations on the yield in terms of the disease, stress, and lodging resistance of the 13 silage corn varieties and initially selected five excellent corn silage varieties.

This year, the government has carried out a series of experimental projects for new seed types, involving more than 200 superior varieties of crops such as rice, corn, and soybeans.
