Agricultural product quality supervision to be enhanced

On March 29, Liu Li, an inspector for the Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs, presided over the 2024 Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Supervision Work Meeting for Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area, located in Southwest China's Guizhou province.

During the meeting, participants studied the national restrictions on excessive packaging of fresh edible agricultural products, and reported on the assessment of the agricultural product quality and safety targets in Guiyang for 2023, as well as the work progress seen in the first quarter of 2024.

The meeting specifically addressed arrangements for monitoring work and the promotion of green food initiatives in 2024.

The bureau emphasized the need to intensify the supervision of agricultural products to ensure quality and safety. All of the participating government departments were urged to address prominent issues related to agricultural and veterinary drug residues, promote the standardized and green development of agriculture, and increase efforts in green food certification.

The goals for the year are to achieve the certification of seven green food products, participate in events such as the China Green Food Expo and China International Organic and Green Food Expo, and enhance publicity efforts in order to expand the influence of local brands.
