In recent years, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province have embraced rural vitalization by developing distinctive local industries tailored to each village's strengths.

Through innovative cooperation models involving leading enterprises, farmers' cooperatives, village collectives, and households, rural residents gain stable incomes while the countryside flourishes.

In Xiuwen county's Xingfu village, boutique homestays like "Tianyuan Xiaozhu" are thriving. Entrepreneur Yang Xiuhui reports that returning guests have already booked for summer, and revenues last year reached 50,000 yuan ($6,820).

Xiaba village in Nanming district has developed a 50-hectare agri-tourism park, drawing thousands of visitors during flower season. The village's collective income hit 5.1 million yuan in 2024, benefiting over 1,200 shareholders.

Lanba village in Gui'an has also transformed its appearance and economy through the "Five Rural Treatments" approach. A new labor education base welcomed 5,000 students in 2023 and doubled income in 2024.

By aligning rural tourism, agriculture, and cultural experiences, Guiyang and Gui'an are reshaping village economies. From vacation homestays to experiential learning and farm-to-table ventures, the region's rural vitalization strategy is building a prosperous and sustainable future for its communities.
