The scallion fields of Machang village in Huaxi district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, have transformed into an emerald-green tapestry as the harvest season reaches its peak.

After 21 years of dedicated development, Huaxi's scallion industry has blossomed into a fully integrated supply chain. Introducing a high-yield black scallion variety from Yunnan boosted output by 30 percent, while 18 kilometers of mechanized farming roads and smart irrigation systems enable efficient cultivation.

A cold-chain logistics hub ensures freshness for markets in Chongqing, Chengdu, and beyond. Huaxi Agricultural Investment Co is collaborating with Guizhou Agricultural Development Group to expand sales networks and explore supply chains to Hong Kong.

Huaxi's 300-mu (20 hectares) smart seedling base and soil enhancement projects aim to meet organic certification standards within three to five years. Forty-eight local farming experts have trained over 5,000 households, lifting annual incomes by more than 10,000 yuan ($1,370) per scallion-growing family.

By 2026, Huaxi targets 450 million yuan in annual scallion industry revenue, solidifying "Huaxiaocong" as a national household name.
