In Luwo village, Xishan town, Xifeng county, neatly aligned rice paddies stretch across the landscape. "This year, the rice ears are fuller and heavier. Yields are expected to reach 600 kilograms per mu, even better than last year," said local farmer Zhang Xingliang, standing by his 10-mu (0.7 hectares) field.

Blessed with fertile soil and a favorable climate, Luwo village produces rice that is soft, fragrant, and highly sought after in the market. Building on these natural advantages, Xishan town has advanced the "rice + oilseed" rotation model, achieving multiple harvests per field each year and significantly improving agricultural returns.

At the same time, the town has accelerated the development of high-standard farmland, transforming scattered plots into modern fields that are well-connected by irrigation and drainage systems, road networks, and efficient water management. This integrated approach has laid a solid foundation for stable and high yields while driving rice cultivation toward industrialized and scaled development.

Xishan town is also exploring a "farming + tourism" model, where visitors can enjoy rapeseed flowers in spring, fresh oil in summer, and selenium-rich rice in autumn. This integration of agriculture and tourism is injecting new momentum into rural vitalization.

This year, Xishan town has planted over 4,200 mu of high-quality rice. With harvest expected in mid- to late September, total output is projected to exceed 2,300 metric tons.

Moving forwards, the town will continue to advance land and technology strategies, optimize crop structures, and deepen the integration of good farmland, seeds, practices, systems, and machinery.
