Guizhou Lanxin Biotechnology Co has built China's first vanilla base in Chengguan village, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, planting the first batch of 2,200 vanilla seedlings imported from Madagascar.

The company specializes in integrating vanilla planting, import trade, deep processing, and the development of derivative products. With the support of the Guiyang bureau of agriculture and rural affairs and other relevant departments, it is advancing the full vanilla industrial chain in phases, utilizing Guizhou's unique climate and geographic advantages.

The first phase of the project involves an investment of 5 million yuan ($707,170), the leasing of 11.66 mu (0.78 hectares) of idle greenhouses in Xiuwen county for standardized facility transformation, and the construction of 21 standardized intelligent facility greenhouses.

Vanilla can produce over 250 aromatic components, widely used in high-end food, beverages, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals, with high medicinal value. For a long time, China's vanilla supply has been entirely dependent on imports from Madagascar, Indonesia, and other regions.

The company will steadily expand its vanilla planting scale, with planting areas expected to exceed 100 mu by August 2026.
