Guiyang and Gui'an accelerate modern agricultural system construction

In recent years‌, the agricultural and rural departments of Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area have accelerated the development of new agricultural operating entities, optimized rural industrial layouts, and established a modern agricultural operating system.

This progress has been driven by efforts to expand sales channels, strengthen financial support, enhance project assistance, precisely align supply with demand, and improve the business environment.

Looking ahead‌, Guiyang and Gui'an aim to cultivate leading industries with enduring market competitiveness. Their plan includes building 10 full industrial chains spanning vegetables, mushrooms, fruits, medicinal products, tea, poultry, pigs, aquatic products, the seed industry, and agricultural machinery.

Additionally, the region will develop 100 specialized, innovative farms and parks, build a trillion-yuan-level agricultural processing industry, and foster 10,000 new agricultural operating entities.

To increase the scale and efficiency of large-scale breeding operations, emphasis will be placed on training general farmers in production and management skills to enhance their self-development capabilities. Policies will continue to support land transfers and the construction of new livestock facilities to promote moderate-scale farming.

Family farms will receive operational support, encouraging long-term farmers to leverage natural resources, cultural heritage, and idle farmhouses to develop industries such as tourism, catering, homestays, and elderly care. These efforts will expand business models and income streams while participating in provincial-level demonstration farm initiatives to elevate standardization and scale.
