Xiuwen county utilizes drones for high-efficiency cole flower care

Drones laden with liquid treatment are taking to the skies above the cole flower fields of Xiuwen county's Jinqiao village, hovering and weaving to distribute a fine mist evenly across each leaf.

With drone-led aerial protection, the entire spraying task for Jinqiao's over 500 mu (33.33 hectares) of cole flowers can now be completed in a single day, ensuring uniform application, superior results, and preventing crop damage from foot traffic.

Capitalizing on the clear weather, the Xiuwen bureau of agriculture and rural affairs has coordinated drone operations across all of the county's cole flower planting areas, which have reached 70,000 mu this year.

With professional social service organizations and agricultural machinery cooperatives, it is treating 20,000 mu of concentrated cole flower plots across various townships and subdistricts, solving the challenges of low efficiency, high costs, and intensive labor associated with traditional manual methods, achieving precise plant protection and green prevention.

Xiuwen plans to increase investment in agricultural science and technology, promoting intelligent technologies like drone-based protection to enhance the technological value of its agriculture.
