Since 2025, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area have developed modern mountainous urban high-efficiency agriculture. By accelerating the construction of an agricultural industrial system with distinct characteristics and prominent advantages, the region has boosted rural vitalization through industrial growth.
In 2025, the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery in Guiyang and Gui'an reached 37.09 billion yuan ($5.37 billion), a year-on-year increase of 4.9 percent. The per capita disposable income of rural permanent residents reached 26,671 yuan, up 5.6 percent year-on-year.
Facilities and sub-early maturing vegetable demonstration bases covering 44,000 mu (2,933.33 hectares) were completed. Additionally, over 100,000 mu of off-site supply and order-based bases were established in areas like Luodian, balancing the total supply of winter and spring vegetables.

In 2025, Guiyang and Gui'an developed 97,500 cubic meters of facility-based aquaculture, launched 22 ecological aquaculture pilot projects in mountain ponds, lakes, and reservoirs, promoted 10,000 mu of "rice + fish" co-culture, adding 500 metric tons of new aquatic capacity.
Next, Guiyang and Gui'an will remain committed to developing modern mountainous urban high-efficiency agriculture. They aim to strengthen both agricultural production and ecological functions, promote smart agriculture and modern facility farming, and improve overall production capacity, quality, and efficiency to further advance rural vitalization.
