At a vegetable supply base in Longgang town, Guiyang's Kaiyang county, rows of standardized white greenhouses stand in alignment. Inside, green screw pepper seedlings are thriving as farmers work busily to complete the transplanting process.

Spanning approximately 1,750 mu (116.67 hectares), the base specializes in high-quality, high-yield spiral pepper varieties that are slated to hit the market in late May, with a harvest season that runs through November.

To ensure optimal growth, every greenhouse is outfitted with fully automated systems for light control, temperature regulation, and integrated water and fertilizer management. In tandem with the tech, agricultural experts are on-site to help farmers master professional cultivation techniques.

The base also uses a diversified sales strategy that combines online platforms, pre-set orders, and wholesale markets, with produce shipped to Sichuan, Chongqing, and Guangzhou, where it has become a consumer favorite.

Longgang will continue to provide robust support for its vegetable bases, deploying technicians to the fields for regular guidance. By expanding sales channels and building brand influence, the town aims to improve the quality and efficiency of the industry and boost incomes across the entire supply chain.
