Grasping the opportunities brought by the ongoing Eastern Data and Western Computing project – China's ambitious plans to build a network of data center hubs to address information infrastructure imbalances between the east and west of the country – Guiyang city and Guian New Area have acted.
The Guiyang municipal bureau of industry and information technology and Guiyang municipal bureau of finance jointly issued measures for the administration of vouchers for industrial enterprises and industrial projects in Guiyang.
In the first half of this year, new projects in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, had 82.93 billion yuan ($12.28 billion) in funds in place, exceeding the half-year target of 2.93 billion yuan.
A lab focusing on supercomputing's computing power and algorithm was initiated by Guizhou University and Guian New Area Sci-tech City Construction and Development Co in Southwest China's Guizhou province on July 13.
Guiyang city and Guian New Area – both located in Southwest China's Guizhou province – have to date established more than 3,000 fresh markets.
Guiyang city and the nearby Guian New Area have now realized full coverage of 5G and 1,000-gigabit optical networks, making them the first in the province to do so, according to the Guiyang bureau of big data development and management.
